The Anchorage Market & Festival

The Anchorage Market & Festival is a great place to bring your family and  friends and the tourists love it!; it offers free entertainment running from street performers, dancers, poets, all the way to top of the line Alaskan bands, great food and fun.

 If you are shopping for fresh produce, exotic food and goods from around the world,  Alaskan souvenirs, pelts, you name it you'll find it at the Anchorage Market and Festival.

       The Street Market was created to centralize the sale of produce cultivated  by the local producers therefore helping the local economy.  Last year there were around 400 vendors occupying an area in the heart of Downtown Anchorage, on 3rd Street. 

                     
    
                             

Today the Market is the place to be on the weekends it opens Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer.  

This year the Street Market opened on May 14th and it is 

closing on Sep 11th.

Fall

Well here it comes one of the absolutely finest seasons of the year:

 Autumn, Fall, Harvest Season, the name you wish to call, it makes no difference at all because, it  is still the most spectacular gift that nature gives us before everything turns white and cold. 

Throughout the state of Alaska, namely in the Kenai Peninsula you'll find the most beautiful display of fall colors, here are some for your delight. 

 The riot of colors created by the last gasp of the leaves trying to grab hold of the last sun rays of the year. 

Nature again puts up a performance with its infinite variety of colors impregnating the eyes, souls, and hearts of everyone exposed to.

The winds turning this ballet of leaves, and vines twisting into trees with its different colors, running from green to maroon, and in between the yellows, oranges, reds, and burgundies.  

The fall season is the closing of a year with a promise of hope for a new beginning.
